Welcome to Doerr Animal Clinic! Our extensive veterinary team is dedicated to making sure your furry family members live a happy and healthy life. We're a full service animal hospital that takes emergency cases as well as preventive veterinary care and animals with less urgent medical problems. Some of our more common services are:
Our veterinarian team knows the value of preventive medicine, and we all recommend owners schedule regular wellness examinations for all their pets. Puppies and kittens should have four exams during their first year, adult pets should be seen annually and senior pets need to come in twice a year. During each exam, our doctor will check your pet for parasites, look at its dental health, make sure it's a healthy weight and not obese and give the necessary vaccinations needed for each pet's environment and lifestyle.
From emergency surgery to common pregnancy, there are many times when ultrasound, x-rays or EKG recording is a useful tool in keeping your pet healthy. Our doctors are trained in multiple forms of medical imaging, and we have the equipment needed in-office.
We offer pet boarding, both for pets that need recovery from medical procedures and for those that need a place to stay while their family goes away. If you're planning a vacation to a place that's not pet-friendly, arrange for your dog or cat to stay with us. We walk dogs four times a day and give all pets ample play time. We're all pet lovers, and will treat your pet like our own.
Grooming isn't just to make your pet look pretty; it's an important part of its health care, just like keeping yourself showered is for you. We'll bathe your pet, inspecting its skin for rashes or parasites. Once your pet's fur is clean and shiny, we'll clip it's claws, which is important for preventing ingrown, split or cracked claws.
Special diets aren't only for pets that are overweight. There are a number of medical conditions that require a specialized diet such as:
- Heart disease
- Stomach ailments
- Kidney disease
Our veterinarian will prescribe the right nutrition for your dog or cat and will spend time educating you on the goals for prescription nutrition.
Your cat or dog's mouth can be the key to diagnosing and treating a number of internal diseases. Did you know that red gums and tongue can be a sign of an internal infection? Just like humans, dental care is key to keeping the body in good shape. We take dental care seriously, and clean your pet's teeth as well as inspect them.
